Reviews The BMA was an amazing venue for our wedding! The columns in fox court are gorgeous and the courtyard in antioch court is really unique. Their event manager Alicia was always available if we had questions throughout the planning process! Grace, Baltimore, MD My husband and I got married at the BMA with our Ceremony and Reception held in the Fox Court and the Cocktail Hour held in the Antioch Court. This location was absolutely perfect for our wedding! I was an Art History Major and he was an Ancient Studies Major in college so a museum wedding was exactly what we wanted. Alicia was such a pleasure to work with and was always so quick with email responses and answering all questions we had. Our day was so unforgettable and all our guests had an amazing time. For those interested in getting married in a museum, please consider the Baltimore Museum of Art. The Fox and Schafer Courts in the American wing were newly renovated as part of the BMA’s 100th anniversary celebration and are now available for events. BMA’s event coordinator- Alicia- is an amazing person. She’s very organized, quick to respond to your questions, and overall is a joy to work with. She’s also a calming presence, which is great for a high strung, Type A like myself. The BMA is a great value, much less expensive than comparable museums and you have the option of leaving the side galleries off Fox court open during the reception for guests to take in the art. It’s a beautiful space and I can’t wait to celebrate my marriage there.

Why We Like This Place Founded in 1914 with a single painting, this grand museum now has 95,000 pieces in its collection of 19th-century, modern, and contemporary art—including the largest public holding of works by Henri Matisse. Weddings can be held in the neoclassical Fox Court, with its soaring coffered ceiling supported by Ionic columns or Antioch Court, which boasts elaborate mosaics and floor-to-ceiling windows. Outdoor celebrations are held in the stunning sculpture garden, with dining among the sculptures or on the terrace of Gertrude’s Restaurant, which overlooks the museum’s grounds.
